ANCIENT CORINTH – ISTHMUS

Ancient Corinth was one of the most powerful and prosperous city-states of ancient Greece, renowned for its strategic location between two seas (the Corinthian Gulf and the Saronic Gulf). It boasted significant ports (Lechaion and Kenchreai) that connected East and West through trade. The archaeological site features the Temple of Apollo, the Agora, Roman baths, and various other public and private buildings. The Isthmus of Corinth, recognized since antiquity as a vital maritime crossroads, gained its iconic canal in the late 19th century (1882–1893). The Corinth Canal, spanning approximately 6.3 kilometers, links the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs, offering impressive views.

• 09:30: Arrival at the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth. Visit the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Agora, and the museum
