Itinerary

A trip to Meteora is a two-day experience that includes traveling by bus from Athens to the Kalambaka area, visiting selected monasteries, and experiencing the stunning natural setting. This excursion combines religious tourism, natural beauty, and cultural history.

Meteora, located in the prefecture of Trikala, is a unique natural and spiritual landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Towering rock formations rise dramatically from the plain, creating an imposing panorama. From the 14th century onward, monasteries were built atop these rocks, serving for centuries as places of asceticism and monastic life. Today, six active monasteries remain, where visitors can admire rare frescoes, relics, and manuscripts of great religious and cultural value.
